Apply for Taiwan Student Visa from ‘Sticker Visa’ Bangladesh Office

Special Note: The Visa Applicant must have USA or Canada or UK visa at his/her passport, only then they do not need to visit India at Taiwan Embassy for Biometric and/or Interview. Other than this, you must visit India in-person to apply for visa. However, Visa Interview depends on the discretion of the Embassy only.

Required Documents to Submit at Our Office (whichever applicable/available):

  1. Original Valid Passport along with Old Passports, (valid for at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from Taiwan; with at least Two unused/blank pages).
  2. Fully completed and signed Online Visa Application Form. Click Here to go to the Application link.
  3. Two recent passport size Photographs (Size: 35mm x 45mm). Click Here for Photo Specifications.
  4. An Acceptance Letter from Taiwan (must have company letterhead, date & signature) from the host company with the details of the signatory – name, designation, contact details i.e. direct phone number and email ID.
  5. Authenticated health certificate in 3 months validity.
  6. Letter of Guarantee from Taiwan, duly filled and signed along with inviter’s ROC ID copy. Click Here to download the Form.
  7. Original Forwarding/NOC letter (where applicable) from the applicant’s employer in Bangladesh outlining the reason for traveling to Taiwan, duration of stay, accommodation details, the cost of the trip is being borne by the company etc.
  8. Photocopies of highest Degree and Transcript attested by the MEA and TECC, and the original one should submit at the counter for reference. (The degree and transcript check is not required for short term internship or research).
  9. The provisional Certificate holder only: please make an acknowledgment letter stating that you aware of you are not getting a residence visa, and will submit the original one to the concerned authority in Taiwan within 180 Days after arrival for applying residence visa in Taiwan.
  10. A Covering Letter or Visa Request Letter from the applicant on plain A4 paper, starting with the name, Passport Number, starting the study plan (duration, type of degree), purpose and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip – travel, accommodation, expenses etc. The letter should be duly signed by the applicant with his/her phone number & email address.
  11. Applicant’s personal TIN & ITR Certificate (if applicable & available).
  12. Ticket Itinerary & Hotel booking copy from your travel agent/inviter.
  13. Bank Statement of the applicant as well as of the company for the last 6 months (Required original bank statement on bank letterhead paper with stamp). If parents are sponsoring, the parents’s ITR and Bank statement.
  14. Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate.

Apart from the above-mentioned documents, the Embassy may request other documents as per the applicant’s profile, such as travel medical insurance, marriage certificate, children’s birth certificates, NID, communication proof with invited, other financial/asset documents etc.

Visa Application Processing Time: 

The entire visa process mainly depends on the ‘V’ number confirmation (It is a guarantee by the inviter process, which is confirmed by the BOCA, Taipei). Below are the probable scenarios on processing time:

1. If the visa applicant submits with a ‘V’ Number (e.g., V123) during document submission at our Dhaka Office {this number can be arranged by the inviter from the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) in Taipei, Taiwan}. The inviter will obtain the ‘V’ Number from BOCA, specifying that the visa will be issued at the Taiwan Embassy (TECC) in New Delhi, India. In this scenario, the total processing time will be around 2 weeks.

2. If the ‘V’ Number is not provided at the time of submitting documents at our Dhaka office, the process will take longer. Once we submit the visa application at TECC, they will issue a ‘V’ Number, which will then be shared with the inviter. After receiving the ‘V’ Number, the inviter must obtain a guarantee for that ‘V’ Number from the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) in Taipei, Taiwan, a process that typically takes around 2 to 3 weeks. Considering the time for BOCA verification, visa approval, and passport transit (to and from New Delhi), the total processing time will be approximately 5 weeks in this scenario.

In summary, at the time of your visa application submission at our office, if the ‘V’ Number is provided by the inviter specifying visa issuance at TECC New Delhi, the process will take around 2 weeks. Without it, the processing time will extend to about 5 weeks.

Special Note: Additional processing time is applicable for Student visas in case the applicant’s educational, medical & other documents need to be Attested/Legalized by the Bangladesh High Commission, New Delhi, India and from the Taiwan Embassy (TECC), New Delhi, India.
