 Visa Categories of Taiwan

It depends on the purpose of your travel to Taiwan. In broad sense, Taiwan visa center in Delhi issues numerous types of visas according to the requirement of the applicants. But, the Bangladeshi citizen can only apply in few of the categories like Business Visa, Seaman Visa for Transit, Student Visa, Entrepreneur Visa, Visa for Sport competition, Internship Visa, International conference, and some others.

Process of Taiwan visa application:

All Bangladeshi applications for a Taiwan Visa must be made by completing an Online Visa Application Form, by clicking on here. It will direct you to a secure site from which you can complete an online application. In the form, there will be an option of your agent name, you will not provide any agent name there. Once it is filled up, you will submit it and print out the copy for signing.

You can only apply for single entry visa. If you want to apply for multiple entry, you need to have at least 3 Taiwanese previous visas.

Special Note: The Visa Applicant must have USA or Canada or UK visa at his/her passport, only then they do not need to visit India at Taiwan Embassy for Biometric and/or Interview. Other than this, you must visit India in-person to apply for visa. However, Visa Interview depends on the discretion of the Embassy only.

Common Supporting Documents for Taiwan Business visa:

We provide the customized and specific checklist for our clients while requested over email. But below are the common documents which you need to present.

1. Online visa application form with signature.
2. Taiwan’s inviter’s invitation letter (stating the purpose and applicant’s name and other detail).
3. Bangladeshi Company cover letter mentioning purpose of visit, designation of the visitor, and the intended duration and days of stay (if applicants require multiple-entry visa, tentative traveling date should be mentioned).
4. Bangladeshi Company’s registration and certificate issued by the India government.
5. Bangladeshi Company’s bank statement for 3 months with Original bank stamp and ITR for 1 year.
6. Proof of Transaction, e.g. LC/remittance receipts/business correspondence between trading parties, if any.
7. Applicant’s personal salary bank account statement for 3 months with Original bank stamp.
8. Applicant’s Income Tax Return for last 3 years.
9. Two passport size photos (white background, showing 80% face)
10. Original Passports with previous as well.
11. Round trip air ticket and hotel booking.
12. Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate.
13. “Letter of Guarantee for Visa Application”, click here to download it. Email it to your inviter in Taiwan, and ask them to fill the form, sign and attached with the inviter’s ID copy and the Taiwan’s company / organization’s registration. The mentioned documents (either original or photocopies) should be printed out and provided.

Processing time:

The entire visa process mainly depends on the ‘V’ number confirmation (It is a guarantee by the inviter process, which is confirmed by the BOCA, Taipei). Below are the probable scenarios on processing time:

1. If the visa applicant submits with a ‘V’ Number (e.g., V123) during document submission at our Dhaka Office {this number can be arranged by the inviter from the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) in Taipei, Taiwan}. The inviter will obtain the ‘V’ Number from BOCA, specifying that the visa will be issued at the Taiwan Embassy (TECC) in New Delhi, India. In this scenario, the total processing time will be around 2 weeks.

2. If the ‘V’ Number is not provided at the time of submitting documents at our Dhaka office, the process will take longer. Once we submit the visa application at TECC, they will issue a ‘V’ Number, which will then be shared with the inviter. After receiving the ‘V’ Number, the inviter must obtain a guarantee for that ‘V’ Number from the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) in Taipei, Taiwan, a process that typically takes around 2 to 3 weeks. Considering the time for BOCA verification, visa approval, and passport transit (to and from New Delhi), the total processing time will be approximately 5 weeks in this scenario.

In summary, at the time of your visa application submission at our office, if the ‘V’ Number is provided by the inviter specifying visa issuance at TECC New Delhi, the process will take around 2 weeks. Without it, the processing time will extend to about 5 weeks.
