1. Can Bangladeshi students study in Canada?
Yes. Bangladeshi students can apply to eligible Canadian colleges and universities after receiving admission from a Designated Learning Institution.

2. Is IELTS compulsory for Canada?
Yes, But Universities and colleges accepts TOEFL, PTE, CAEL or other approved evidence depending on their admission policy.

3. How much money must I show for a Canada Study Permit?
For applications submitted on or after 1 September 2026, a single student studying outside Quebec must show at least CAD 23,448 for one year of living expenses.

4. Do I need to show funds for the entire degree?
You must show sufficient funds for the first year, and for a program lasting longer than one year, explain how you intend to finance the remaining study period.

5. How much are tuition fees in Canada?
Tuition depends on the institution and course.

College Diploma: CAD 16,000–25,000 per year
University Undergraduate: average CAD 41,746 per year
University Graduate: average CAD 24,028 per year

6. Can international students work while studying?
Yes. Eligible students can currently work up to 24 hours per week off campus during regular academic terms without a separate work permit.

7. Can students work full-time during holidays?
Yes. Eligible students can work unlimited hours off campus during scheduled academic breaks, provided they continue to meet the applicable Study Permit conditions.

8. How long does a Canadian Study Permit decision take?
For applicants from Bangladesh, standard processing times usually vary between 6 to 12 weeks from the day you submit your biometrics. It is highly recommended to submit your application at least 3 to 4 months prior to your university intake to account for any unexpected background check delays.

9. Can my spouse work in Canada while I study?
Only certain students can support a spouse for an open work permit.

Current eligibility generally includes students in:

Master’s programs of 16 months or longer
Doctoral programs
Certain professional degree programs such as Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Education and Engineering.

10. Does Canada offer a Post-Graduation Work Permit?
Yes. Graduates of eligible programs qualify for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

11. How long can the PGWP be?
Depending on the qualification and program length, a PGWP can be valid for up to 3 years.

Eligible Master’s graduates may receive a 3-year PGWP even when the Master’s program is less than 2 years, provided it was at least 8 months long and all other conditions are met.

12. When can an international student be eligible for PR?
An international student can apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada after completing one full year (12 months) of full-time, skilled work experience in Canada after graduation.
